Mr. Fazal-ur-Rahman
Mr. Fazal-ur-Rahman, has served at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) from September 1986- January 2013. His last position at the ISSI was Director, China Study Centre and East Asia.
Mr. Rahman, holds a Masters degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from the Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad (1984), a diploma in “Conflict Resolution” from Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University, Sweden (1989), a certificate in “National Security” from Institute of Political Science Christian-Albrechts University, Kiel, Germany (1994) and is a graduate of the ‘Executive Course’ from Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, Honolulu, USA, (2000).
Mr. Rahman has been Visiting Fellow at the Institute for International Affairs at Ebenhausen, Munchen, Germany 1996, Fellow of Japan Foundation at Hiroshima University, Japan, 2001, Visiting Fellow at the China Institutes for Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), Beijing, 2004, Visiting Fellow at TUSAM, Ankara, Turkey 2007.
Mr. Rahman, has contributed a number of research articles and book-chapters on China, East Asia, and multilateral organizations in Asia. He regularly delivers lectures and Quaid-i-Azam University, International Islamic University and the National Defence University.
Mr. Rahman is among the founding members of “Strategic Studies Institute Islamabad” (SSII)., “Foundation for Fundamental Rights” (FFR), and “Peace Education and Development Foundation” (PEAD).
